MEO Marés moves to Leça da Palmeira for its 2026 edition

Two years later, after the pandemic, the music festival returned to Vila Nova de Gaia. The James were one of the attractions on the first day, August 15th, which featured Bryan Adams as the headliner.
In a warming up environment, early comers started to explore the new area of the festival at the Parque de Campismo da Madalena. At 5:30pm of a friday afternoon, a young british band premiered the main stage.
The K's
The K's are a very synergistic group of friends coming from the middle of Manchester and Liverpool, from where they have picked up the best influences from.
Positive energies for the beginning of the weekend to the spirit of "Hometown", their latest single, where one "Lives like a King for a day and regret it all week and then rinse and repeat the weekend after".
They rose to the challenge of opening the festival's main stage, proving to be what they are said to be: "true saviours of rock n roll and everything that is good in music today".
Maximo Park
Shortly after, in a full schedule for the main stage, another English band performed. This time, Maximo Park, an indie rock band formed in 2003 and carrying 6 albums in their luggage already, performed a very competent concert that captivated the interest of an ever-increasing audience.
Many congratulations to frontman Paul Smith, for delighting the audience by speaking many times in Portuguese.
Miguel Araújo
The day was only half way through when Miguel Araújo came on stage. The Portuguese singer is a well-known name among the public, having not only debuted at Marés Vivas with the band Os Azeitonas, but also featured as a solo artist on the listing of a previous edition. This is the 10th year of his solo career, and the artist has revived some of the greatest hits in this concert, as well as presenting themes from the new album of originals "Chá Lá Lá".
James
Daylight was fading when James, one of the waited bands took the stage. This is a frequent band in Portugal, and their last visit was just 3 months before. However, the enthusiasm of those present was redoubled and the band, which already celebrates more than 40 years of existence, presented the public with a mix of hits and new songs.
Bryan Adams
Mythical Bryan Adams closed the day, gathering all the people present around the main stage. The band did not authorize the capture of images, but the memories are creased in all those who experienced the great show.
