Porto is gearing up for the festive season, with its iconic Christmas tree set to light up Praça do General Humberto Delgado this Saturday at 6:00 PM. This year, the tree features a revamped, more three-dimensional design. The event will include a video mapping projection on the city hall's façade and a fireworks display. At 6:30 PM, Fernando Daniel will kick off the musical program with a performance on the Avenida dos Aliados stage.

The city’s Christmas lights, illuminating over 90 streets, will remain on until January 6. From Sunday to Thursday, the lights will shine from 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM, while on Fridays, Saturdays, and holiday eves, they will stay on until midnight. Avenida dos Aliados will be the focal point for the celebrations, hosting major concerts, including Marisa Liz on December 8 and Rodrigo Leão on December 23, the latter marking 30 years of his career alongside young local musicians.

In addition to music, the Christmas Market will bring festive cheer to Jardim de João Chagas and Largo do Amor de Perdição. Open daily until December 23, the market will feature two themed tents: the Christmas Tent, offering music, theater, dance, and contemporary circus performances, and the Crystal Tent, hosting workshops for children. Visitors can also enjoy a traditional ice skating rink and a Parisian carousel, both free of charge with tickets available on-site.

With a variety of events spread across the city, Porto promises a magical Christmas season for all ages. From live performances and themed markets to family-friendly activities and classic attractions like the illuminated tree and street lights, the city will embrace the festive spirit until the start of the new year.
