Porto is solidifying its status as a key player in the global tech landscape through a combination of education initiatives and major events. This year, the launch of the SWitCH IoT and SWitCH Cyber programs is set to reskill professionals in critical areas like the Internet of Things and Cybersecurity. Developed by Porto Tech Hub in partnership with ISEP and supported by Santander, these postgraduate courses offer accessible training to meet the growing demand for tech talent, with 180 students expected to benefit over the next two years.

These cutting-edge courses, developed by Porto Tech Hub in collaboration with the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), are designed to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in the fields of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Cybersecurity. These areas have seen a surge in importance as businesses and industries increasingly adopt digital technologies and require robust security systems to protect their data and operations.

Complementing these educational efforts, the PortoTech programme has an agenda starting from 24th September. The events will feature AI themes but also conferences, like the one scheduled for 26th November at Alfandega - with renowned international speakers, including Stephen Chin (JFrog) and Nicolas Fränkel (Apache Apisix), covering key topics such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cybersecurity. Major companies like Bosch, Volkswagen Digital Solutions, and Mercedes-Benz.io will also participate, engaging directly with tech professionals and promoting knowledge sharing.

With workshops, networking opportunities, and cutting-edge talks, both the SWitCH programs and the PortoTech overall event underscore Porto’s commitment to building a robust tech ecosystem, attracting global talent, and fostering innovation within the city.

For those visiting Porto this September and beyond, the city’s energy goes beyond its picturesque streets and historic landmarks. Porto is actively shaping the future of technology, making it not just a cultural destination, but a thriving center for innovation and growth.
