Thousands of university students filled the streets of Porto for another Queima das Fitas academic parade.

Thousands of Academy students walked down Rua de Camões, in a parade that ended in front of the City Hall, with the usual sticks on top hats.

The procession of 43 cars brings together around 400,000 people annually, including students and visitors. University students from all higher education institutions in Porto parade around the city with the colors of their courses and floats.

Queima das Fitas started this Sunday with some setbacks: it was marked by long queues and problems in exchanging the ticket for the wristband that would be used to buy drinks and food at Queimódromo. Faced with complaints from students who stayed outside the enclosure, the Associação Académica do Porto announced a hybrid payment system.
