Porto is launching the third edition of its Summer opPORTOnities program, offering 60 young residents and students the chance to gain valuable professional experience through paid internships in local companies.
This summer, the city of Porto will kick off the third edition of its Summer opPORTOnities program, designed to provide young residents and students with hands-on professional experience. Aimed at those aged 18 to 21, this initiative offers 60 paid internships in local companies during July and August.
The program, primarily funded by the Porto Municipality, not only supports youth development by enhancing their skills but also allows businesses to mentor and potentially recruit new talent.
Participating companies will cover a small portion of the internship stipends and provide meal allowances and accident insurance. They play a crucial role in integrating and guiding the interns throughout their placement. This mentorship aspect of the program is designed to provide a supportive learning environment, where interns can gain insights into their chosen industries and build professional networks.
The Summer opPORTOnities program exemplifies Porto's commitment to youth empowerment and workforce readiness, setting the stage for a future-ready generation.
